Hi there. My name is Chris.
I live in the U.K. with my partner and 2 stepchildren.
I perform various roles in my day-to-day life.
I'm a Developer
Sometimes I'm a software developer, creating web-based apps using my own programming language, Vortex, running in my own IDE, StormChaser, creating complex and useful applications using just an iPad - no PC required.
I'm a Teacher
Other times I am a teacher, with over 14 years experience teaching computing to students from GCSE / Level 2 BTEC Qualifications all the way up to HND.
Many people over the years have said some nice things about me. Below are some of the testimonials that have been written about me by colleagues and students.
Without you I wouldn't have passed this year. No way. If you weren't as compassionate and supportive I don't even think I would have been able to overcome my OCD. Taking away my deadlines meant that I was able to fully focus on setting my brain right properly rather than worrying about College work at the same time.
Even though I was months behind as a result of my therapy you were still there supporting me and making sure I was getting the lecturing and the teaching I needed to achieve a grade from the HND course. You're one of the best teachers I have ever had the pleasure of working with. You always made sure to be there for me when I needed help, which was a lot of the time, but did so without fail.

I'm an Assessor
I am an assessor with City and Guilds, Grading Level 4 Apprentice Software Developers for their End Point Assessments.
I'm a Creator

I'm an Author
I have written a number of articles on Medium about my experiences with all sorts of technical things. If you would like to take a look, Just click here and see what you think!
I have self published two books, have started writing countless others, and have another few left in me still. I can consider myself a "proper author" as one of the books was pirated! Shows it may actually be worth reading!
I'm a Musician
Okay, this one is pushing it a bit, but I did create a whole album during lockdown of instrumental music that personally I like to listen to still!
I'm a Human
I am an inclusion advocate, passionate about the use of technology to create a level playing field for everyone, no matter what your situation or circumstance. To this end I have built apps to help with Dyslexia and other Special Educational Needs. You can download them both from Tornado Design
